Final Spotlight of the Semester!

Brooke Vogel

This is Brooke’s third semester in Northway. She is a Creative and this semester she was promoted to Lead Creative. Some of her favorite visual artists include Vincent Van Gogh, Alex Pardee and more. The first CD Brooke ever bought was Nimrod by Green Day. One movie that she could watch endlessly would be Grumpy Old Men or any of the Marvel Movies. Brooke’s biggest pet peeve is the sound of people chewing and/or being obnoxious. Her favorite person to spend time is with her nephew, Ethan and her sister, Tiffany. 5 years from now she would like to be working at a small Advertising Agency or working with bands making promotional items for CDs and concerts.

Adam Studer

As the Spotlights start to come to a close this semester, we introduce Adam Studer. Adam is a CEO and Creative in the Northway Group. The following are answers to interview questions with Adam.

 

Q: Who is your favorite visual artist?

A: My favorite visual artist is Syl Arena. He’s known for high-speed flash photography… his pictures are amazing.

 

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: My biggest pet peeve is when people think perfection is something that can be obtained.  To them I will say, “Cool it!”

 

Q: What is your favorite song to jam out to?

A: Favorite song to jam out to is Love Life, by Atmosphere. I’ll put it on repeat and rap along with it.

 

Q: What is one movie you can watch over and over again?

A: I can watch I Am Legend without getting tired of it. There’s just something about a large city being deserted that captivates me (minus the zombies).

 

Q: What is the greatest advice or piece of inspiration you have heard?

A: Jeff Palm once told me that I have all the tools I need to achieve greatness. It meant a lot to me. And then I asked him if I could borrow a pen.

 

Q: What was your favorite Halloween Costume?

A: I turned into a pretty good hobo one year for Halloween. I’ll definitely be doing that again.

 

Q: What was your favorite toy as a kid?

A: I don’t think I had a favorite toy as a kid. I was always easily entertained and distracted… wait what was the question?

 

Q: What is your favorite hobby?

A: My favorite hobby is golf but I might take it too serious to call it a hobby.

 

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A: Within 5 years from now I’d like to be co-owner of an agency that is big enough to do as much charity work as The Northway Group. The Northway Group has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Mandela Ibrahim

Mandela Ibrahim has the Spotlight today!

Mandela is a Creative for the Northway Group. His biggest pet peeve is when people don’t show up on time. His favorite song to jam out to is ‘White Iverson’ by Post Malone. He likes it because of the relaxing feel it resonates with him. Mandela’s favorite movie is ’21 Jump Street’. The greatest advice that anyone has ever been give is “Always help others.” Mandela’s favorite Halloween costume was when he dressed up as a wizard. His favorite toy as a kid was a toy truck. The first concert that Mandela went to was a Drake concert last summer. His favorite hobbies include playing basketball and soccer. In five years Mandela would like to be running his own business.

Todays Spotlight goes to Amber Sieling!

Amber is a Creative and Project Manager for the Northway Group. Amber doesn’t have a favorite visual artist but she enjoys the art that other people create. Her biggest pet peeves are loud chewers and the sound of silverware clinking on glass tupperware. Her favorite song to jam out to is ‘My House’ and she listens to it while she’s driving or while cleaning. The greatest advice that Amber has ever been given is “Live life to its fullest. No excuses.” Her favorite Halloween moment is when she can spend time with her kids and while Trick-Or-Treating. Her favorite hobby is doing design work in her free time. In five years from now Amber would like to be working at an ad agency.

Spotlight goes to Dayna Voller today!

Dayna is a Creative for the Northway Group. Her biggest pet peeve is when people breathe loud enough for others to hear. Dayna’s favorite song to jam out to is ‘Timber’ by Kesha & Pitbull. Her all-time favorite movie will always be ‘Grease’. The best advice Dayna has ever been given is “Always treat others the way you would like to be treated.” Dayna’s favorite Halloween memory was when she and her friends dressed up as the teenage mutant ninja turtles; they won an award for best costume in two locations! Dayna’s favorite toy as a kid was a giant teddy bear that her parents gave her to help her sleep at night. The first CD that she ever bought was a ‘Poison’ album. Her favorite hobby is horseback riding. In five years Dayna would like to run her own photography and design studio in Colorado.

This week’s Northway Spotlight is Mackenzie McCann.

Mackenzie’s favorite visual artist is Salvador Dali, the weird king of surrealism. Her biggest pet peeve is when people eat oranges in public. The smell makes her gag. Mackenzie’s favorite song is ‘Go’ by Grimes because there is a lot of head-banging and interpretive dancing involved. The movie she can’t get enough of is Moulin Rouge. Mackenzie’s greatest advice is “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those whom mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”-Dr. Seuss. Last year she dressed as Imperator Furiosa from Mad Max, Fury Road for Halloween. She made the costume herself! She loved her books as a kid, and was always reading. The first concert Mackenzie went to was ‘Relient K’ and ‘Swithfoot’ during middle school. Her favorite hobby is roller derby, when she practices twice a week, and she also does a lot of volunteer work for the community. In five years, Mackenzie would like to be living in a big city (Minneapolis/St. Paul, Seattle, or Portland, working as a designer and copywriter at a creative firm. Eventually she would like to be her own boss as a freelance designer, or start her own creative agency.

Evan Grothaus

This week’s Northway Spotlight is Evan Grothaus.

Evan’s favorite visual artist is Tom Masse. His biggest pet peeve is when things don’t work the way they’re supposed to, as well as asking him what’s wrong over and over again. Evan likes to jam and belt out to is ‘Come with Me Now’ by Kongos. He could watch Oh Brother, Where Art Thou over and over without getting tired of it. Evan’s greatest advice is “Most people feel, as they make up their minds to feel. It’s always darkest right before dawn.” When Evan was really little, he dressed up as Batman for Halloween. His favorite toy was that one that did one thing, which was pretty cool. The first concert Evan attended was Weezer featuring Angels and Airwaves. His first CD he purchased was Bowling for Soup “A Hangover you Don’t Deserve.” His hobbies include spending time with and training his puppy. In five years Evan would like to be living in Colorado and working for an advertising or marketing agency.

Michael Green

This week’s Northway Spotlight is Michael Green.

Michael’s favorite visual artist is Norman Rockwell for his art on 20th Century American Culture. His biggest pet peeve is being on your phone while he is talking to you. Michael’s favorite song he jams to with his roommates is ‘Mr. Brightside’ by the Killers. The Harry Potter movies are his favorites, and he can watch them over and over. His greatest advice is “Don’t worry, be happy.” Michael once dressed up as Napoleon Dynamite for Halloween. His favorite toys as a kid were his bike and Legos. Michael’s first CD was a Linkin Park album was when he was seven. His hobbies include biking and kayaking.  In five years Michael plans to be a trophy husband in Alaska.
